The Long Haul

"Today was a difficult day.
Tomorrow will be better.'

Well there it is.   I think it finally hit us.  We have been staving it off for as long as possible but it is official:  We REALLY miss Josiah!
Especially me.
We are in the throes of one of the most difficult stretches (that we can foresee) of Josiah's graduate school years.  He has been "gone" now for four weeks, and there are three more to go.   Josiah leaves for school at 7:30am,  rehearses his Shakespeare scene (a three week rehearsal process) from 5-7pm or 10-midnight, and is assistant directing The Odyssey from 7-10pm (6 nights per week for 7 weeks).  He barely has time enough on the weekends to squeeze in any remaining homework.   This weekend he will literally be gone at a playwriting festival for four days.  All of this is required of him as part of his studies, none of it is optional.
And so we are passing in the night, and missing our husband and daddy.
Sundays are the hardest, as I am used to Josiah taking a break from the homework and rehearsals and spending time with us, but that has not been possible of late.
We are getting by, but I am not always the mom I wish that I could be.  And so I am mulling over the wise words of Mr. Slinger (above) and praying for more patience, gratitude, and joy tomorrow.
Today was a difficult day, but tomorrow will be better.
